Originally from Norfolk VA, but raised in Va. Beach VA, Merceless is focused on developing a recipe for hip-hop stardom (along with his best friend and partner in crime Main Event) that is reminiscent of other legendary duos such as EPMD, Run D.M.C, The L.O.X., and Outkast. As a tandem, we are driven to take ourselves to the top by focusing on beats and lyrics that can be enjoyed in the club, in the hood, or bumpin' in the ride. Trying to become as respected as our role models in the business, Barry Gordy, Russell Simmons and Quincy Jones, we (Main and Merce.) are as driven as any act before us and are always searching for ways to catch a break in the rap game. One day while in Virginia , we scoped local native Missy Elliott walking down the street, and because there is no shame in our game, we approached her and began spitting freestyle. Missy had mad respect for us, but it was someone else in the crowd that took notice. With Missy that day was her choreographer "Punch", who was impressed by our motivation and fearless attitude in trying to get her attention. Punch knows talent when he sees it, having been the dance choreographer for Superstars such as Aaliyah, Missy herself, Usher, P. Diddy, etc. Punch knew that NHL Superstar Anson Carter was in the planning stages of creating Big Up Entertainment and was searching for hard-working, surefire artists that could represent Big Up Entertainment on the Billboard Charts and accept VMA Awards year after year. Unfortunately the "ANSON CARTER" hopes fell short due to his personal reasons. Anson Carter never spoke to Main and Merce. to let us know what was going on as far as the business, but he told us that we were good to continue striving for our goal that will soon come. We (Main and Merce.) have continued to push songs out as if there was no stopping us. Unstoppable Entertainment is what we've created along with Marv, a long time friend. Not afraid of hard work and sleepless nights, we (Main and Merce.) recorded our first album while both attending Virginia Union University studying Business Administration. Our music and approach to the business is influenced by so many different aspects of life including the streets, struggles with pressure, courting the honeys, the desire to stay positive, and the focus on success. Knowing full and well that many have tried and the chosen are few in the rap game, we are determined to keep bringing the noise by working hard and always raising the bar.
