About Me

Shaman, warrior poet and psychedelic monk. It is my mission to Increase the Peace, and warn mankind of the danger of superintelligent robots!Brought up in the Bay of Ships, I fled civilisation for Dalriada, where I travelled the islands, lochs and glens, armed only with a smile, bongos and my trusty kayak. Once I reached the end of the road, I learned the art of Zen from Jimmy Page's sculptor. I returned once more to the dear green place in an attempt to spread positive teuchter karma to one and all.Now I'm digging into a hill by the river, gazing north to the hills again.......I still travel around Scotland, having adventures and recording them in my blog. I tried to meet Tom Weir, but he was ill at the time, so I went on a spiritual quest to find "the inner Tom"..I like old stuff, new stuff, and making radio where i can. I've worked at Insight, talk107, BBC Scotland and Radio Clyde.. maybe one day I'll make a living out of it :-)

The Night Bus

Dust and diesel lay thick on the plastic floor. Greasy papers and beer fumes covered the residue of the commuters. Dead neons hung behind glass. The swaggering blouson jacket spotted his prey and move...

Crows

The first snows had passed, the crows and magpies had began to gather tear twigs from the hawthorns. I knew it was time to head north. The sun faded into red behind the clouds. A black flotilla ...

Above the wharf, above the market, above the clouds.

The perspective was strange from the balcony above the old wharf. It took me a while to get my bearings. The barges had stopped unloading here years ago and the surface of the canal was still, th...

Back at the harbour

The harbour was quiet today. No-one wrestling with their outboards. But out in the Firth the Super-tankers were sailing off East into the silvery mist. I watched them from the top of the old pier...

Harvest

Standing up a ladder in the sunshine, throwing down Rowans to the smile holding the big cream bowl. One of those big heavy ceramic bowls, spilling over with red. I gave them to the sculptor, but he's ...

They call this work.

The warm air is thick with blizzards of dandelion seeds. The grouse scurry into the cover of the purple hills. It's late summer and I'm driving down roads I've never seen befo...

A city of tunnels...

The flat expanse of tall grass stretched out between the city and the river. The bog stretched for miles when it rained would flood. This was where the giant birds had their nests. He would ...
