ego trip would like to congratulate Rece Steele from the Bronx for taking the crown and earning the title of Miss Rap Supreme. Much love to the runner-ups Byata and Ms. Cherry.
For those who missed the great times at Southpaw in Brooklyn... You missed a chance of a lifetime. On stage, tearing down the building was DAB, Lady Twist, Nicky2States, Ms. Cherry, Byata and Rece Steele. Each one of them brought it and it's a night that will always be remembered. Special shout out to Ms. Cherry (who sang her ass off as well as rapped) for getting her self out to NY on her own dime (thank you, you're a true lady).
ego trip would like to say what up to the ladies who, for budgetary reasons (Vh1, you shoulda coughed some dough up), couldn't be in attendance: Chiba, Khia, Lionezz and Bree. Wish you could have been there.
Also want to shout out Dr. Roxanne Shante and Marley Marl who were in the building. Can't forget John Brown and the Ghetto Revival, who also repped. Thank you to Missbehave Magazine. (Mary Choi in the house.)

Miss Rap Supreme's Thugg Crooner (so gangsta he spells Thugg with two G's because he's "twice the G") is really, in fact, multi-dimensional Stones Throw recording artist Aloe Blacc.
Versatile in every sense of the word, Aloe sings, raps and plays various instruments, smoothly incorporating everything from R&B, hip-hop, Latin and folk stylings into his music that he often produces his damn self.
While he's been called "the indie R. Kelly" (minus the pee), Aloe Blacc is not all about flossing (although Thugg Crooner has been been known to post up and show out). He's all about flowing like the breeze on outstanding cuts just right for getting that special someone in the mood.
