This is a wild journey through my sense of humor,itz also a family trait,i'm cousin to Josephine Baker.A lot of my performances are adlibbed on the 1st take,most of the music is spontaneous ." 25:Riverside " and " Naughty Navel Uh Luh " don't have written lyrics,also Sunny & Cher's:" I Got You Babe ". Humor for me was " an escape " from a bitter social reality i was confronted with as a teen.When The Beastie Boys released:" She's On It ", two of my close homies began to do our own version: "She'z Suckin It ",i would add at the end of the hook:" Less Filling / tastes great (a slogan from a popular beer commercial at the time)" !!! This would go on for hours outside,yelling it !!We went on to form our version of The Beastie Boys,learning Liscenced to Ill,within two weeks of itz release.We'd have tapes cued up on The Box(which i always " wore " strapped around my chest diagnally),making up new routines over their tracks.If we were spotted on the street,people would always acknowledge us and /or have us perform.I was ADROCK,and the cowd favorite was:" Paul Reverre ",which eye hated doing,cause i'd always be hoarse midway through.My homie that was MCA got me into Led Zepplin,through the Beasties.The professional aspect this began to actualize on May 31st 1990,when myself and two members of our ensamble: " Shakainery" recorded an hour and a half of improved comedy entitled:Ignorance.Some of it is featured(during the intro)on Blues-Man-Rock,hence the title,the rest will eventually be released.I'd had " a knack " for immitating Robert Plant,oh and Axl Rose which began to emerge around this time.What you're hearing now to grew from that point,whenever i was in the mood,i'd would record " silly things " to entertain myself,letting some people in my crew listen.When Ol Dirty Bastard released his first joint,a rapper/ friend of mine made the connection between O.D.B. and my sense of humor.The following year,would bring about my first musical group:The Con..cep' that would explore this territory.We recorded 3 songs,that were improvised:" Nickle Bag of Weed " " Ghetto Child " and " Pussy Lover ",i led that band(while involved with 3 others along with solo persuits)," free style " wrote and sung,subbing with lead/rythm guitar.There was even a stab at Lenny Kravitz,an exaggerated immitation of " Freedom Train ".This group only played one gig,which was desasterous,the bartender was offened,and the group fell apart soon after.In 2001,another adlibbed recording was made,which inclueded myself and two other members of Shakainery.This was " a classic " among our entourage,and i will release a lot of it with new material.One of the guys involed with this stage,co-wrote the lyrics to Naughty Navel,which was really " a joke " between the two of us,a song that we originally wrote for Tom Jones.In 2002,after hearing about Tenacious D,i then realized that i could attract an audience,and really began to develope what you're listening to.What i LOve most about this creativity is the fact that i Never Know how a song is gonna turn out,untill after i've recorded it !!!
