Richard started writing songs at the age of 16, and at that time, was into rock n roll, Rockabilly, 50’s Rock, probably influenced by the release of La Bamba (The Ritchie Valens history) at the cinemas. He fronted many bands, including: Assassinos do Ritmo, The Salterius and The Bluz!This cat from Caruaru Pernambuco draws from the great bands of the 50s and 60s such as Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Knox, Ritchie Valens, Gene Vincent, Tommy Sands, Everly Brothers, Ricky Nelson, Bobby Darin, Billy Fury, Billy Cafaro, The Fireballs, and Link Wray and fuses them with B-movies, Rockabilly, R& B, Gospel, Jazz and Blues.
