Dr. Mark founded the Ahimki Center for Wholeness, Inc. in 1995. The name "Ahimki" was developed by combining the Sanskrit word ahimsa (harmlessness toward life) and ki (universal life force). His mission statement is as follows:
“Ahimki†is a word which symbolizes our commitment to honor the sacredness of all life, and our respect for the vital force that flows through all living creatures. We seek to teach and heal, and thereby express our love for Mankind, the Earth, and the Infinite Universe.
Dr. Mark learned from his mentor and teacher, Dr. Kaneko that the body is a symphony and that it plays sacred music. Thus, another definition of the word Ahimki is “a hymn, which is a song, and the ki, which is the energy." Together they create a musical symphony that flows through the body. At the Ahimki Center for Wholeness, Dr. Mark focuses on direct client contact in the areas of nutrition, shiatsu, meridian therapy, acupressure, and biofeedback.
In 2002, he expanded his center and moved to Roswell, Georgia. In this new and larger space, he expanded his services to include EEG neuro-feedback and emotional release work. He also started a naturopathic education program through the Ahimki Institute of Holistic Theology.
In honor of Dr. Mark’s service to his clients and the community a proclamation was issued by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners proclaiming: November 16, 2002 as “ Ahimki Center for Wholeness Day.â€
