In 2003, Murdocks formed in a scorching-hot public storage unit in Austin, TX and immediately hit the ground running – playing hundreds of shows all across the country and nationally releasing one full length record (2005’s Surrenderender) and two Eps. With every release the band continues to churn out catchy, hook-filled, melodic songs that draw attitude from their punk rock roots and incorporate elements of indie rock, garage rock, and power-pop. With distorted sing-scream vocals, a driving rhythm section that never lets up, and lyrics as innocent as they are morbid, Murdocks mix the fun with the dirty – the punch of a drunk with the face of a beauty.

What critics are saying about MURDOCKS...
"Raw in the best way, with sudden hooks and gripping vocal performances at their centers."
TAPE OP MAGAZINE (Portland, OR)
"Most of the press blurbs about the Murdocks name-drop other "garage" acts like the Strokes, or Hot Hot Heat, et al., but you know what? I call bullshit on that one. The Murdocks kick the crap out of any and all of those bands within their first few chord strums.."
-SPACE CITY ROCK (Houston, TX)
"Surrenderender crams passion and conviction into an unforgettable package of air tight pop hooks that seem to hit you in all the right spots. Fragments of brilliance (or dare I say genius?) find their way into nearly every Murdocks track."
BLOOD AND RHETORIC (New Haven, CT)
"Simply loud, dirty, and catchy. Why this is not on the radio I DO NOT KNOW!"
-GLORIOUS NOISE (Chicago, IL)
"It was Pavement-y and Pixies-esque, it was poppy and and punky, it was garage-y and new wave-y ... Everything I want in a band and nothing I don't ... Libertines and White Stripes fans take note because several of these songs, are as good or better than anything I've heard from either of those two.
-SCENESTARS (Memphis, TN)
