HOW WE WORK: We try to satisfy everyone who comes to our studio, with regards to both piercing and tattoos. Firstly, we guarantee a level of hygiene that is not only essential for the customer but also for the artist. We check that there are no problems that could put the customer at risk both during the realization of the artwork and the healing process. Customers give their informed consent by filling in a form which lists all the cases where tattoos and piercings should not be carried out (haemophila, current or previous heart disease, epilepsy, haemophiliasis, current or previous valvular disorders, diabetes, lichen ruben planus and any viral diseases in the last 12 months etc..). Our customers are informed that they should not undergo treatment under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Finally, the type of tattoo the customer wants can be discussed: we always prefer it to be a custom design, which is why it is best to dedicate plenty of time to the first meeting at the studio. We do not rely on the catalogues of drawings, except to give inspiration to those customers who do not have a clear idea of what they want. It is only with patience and dedication that something is gradually created which suits the part of the body chosen for the tattoo and which follows the contours of the body naturally. This is the only way in which the image can come to life. I will now explain the preparation stages for a tattoo and everything I do afterwards and the aftercare advice I give for it to heal. The armchair, lamp and the spray containing water and antiseptic soap that I use are covered in disposable cellophane. The surface on which the instruments are placed is also covered with sterile surgical mats. When someone comes in for a tattoo they are asked to sit in an armchair and I prepare everything I need in front of them: Vaseline, disposable containers which are filled with the colours there and then, the equipment is assembled and the disposable needles and ink caps are opened in front of them and any small machines and clip cords are also rigorously covered. The second stage is to treat the skin, which has been previously checked. Any hairs are always removed and the area cleaned with a specific antiseptic. Having selected the subject to be tattooed, I use special felt-tip pens to sketch the design we have chosen onto the skin. As an alternative, an outline of the design, prepared on paper, can be applied onto the skin using a special product. We are now ready to trace an indelible line on your body which will accompany you for the rest of your life: your TATTOO! I put on my gloves and off we go!! We start what I call the “Realization of Dreams†for others, but also mine!!! In this dream we travel together in parallel, hand in hand and, at the same time, any changes to the prepared drawing can be made where necessary to make everything even more magical and unique. Having completed the tattoo I show them what we have made “togetherâ€, however, there are some exceptions where the more curious customers want to see themselves in the mirror every so often to see how a part of themselves is being transformed during the process. I repeat, “together†because the best made jobs are those where both participate, I leave it up to you to imagine why!? No, come on, I’ll tell you! Try doing a tattoo when they keep moving and you are continuously taking breaks because you keep being interrupted by telephone calls or people dropping in to have a look. All this disturbs your inner harmony while you are putting your soul into creating something to be proud of, your new TATTOO: It would be impossible! We have created it, thank you. I have finished! The customer, with their new tattoo, relaxes. I use this time to throw away, in front of the customer, all the materials I have used into the bins for dangerous refuse which are later collected by the company in charge of the disposal of such materials. All the floor in the area where the tattoo was made and the shelves and armchair are cleaned. I use the same disinfectant-detergent antiseptic product used in hospital theatres, to make sure that any areas which might have come into contact with infectious diseases are perfectly disinfected. Now let’s get back to the TATTOO! Aftercare instructions for the next few days: After the tattoo is done we advise customers to keep the cellophane we have applied for no more than one hour, then to remove it and wash the area with plenty of warm water and pH 5.5 soap, rinse it well and pat it dry. Then, after a few minutes, they should check if there is any discharge from the tattoo, if so, they should continue patting it dry until it stops. The tattoo must not be covered up with any kind of cellophane, gauze, plaster or anything else nor any Vaseline or other creams applied and it should only come into contact with clean cotton garments or garments suitable for the area so that the tattoo can breathe and it must not be covered with a handkerchief. In the next few days, it needs to be washed 3-4 times a day with warm water and pH5.5 soap and gently patted dry and, only once the tattoo is completely dry, a layer of Bepanthonol cream is gently rubbed in until fully absorbed. In the next few days, this should be applied whenever the skin feels tight in order to continue moisturizing the skin, taking care, when applying the cream not to remove any small scabs that may have formed. Washing and applying the cream will be more or less painful, but it is better than ruining the tattoo. Only for the first night, after being tattooed and after having thoroughly cleaned the tattoo, do we advise customers to wrap it in new, clean cellophane without applying any sort of cream. After the initial healing period, about a week, continue applying a moisturizing cream regularly until the skin is smooth and tonic, like it was before the tattoo. Do not go swimming in swimming pools or in the sea do not have saunas, Turkish baths, massages, any sunlamp or wax treatments, or expose the tattoo to the sun until it has completely healed. The time this takes depends on the individual, their skin type and the position and size of the tattoo. We advise the use of a sunblock for coloured tattoos, whenever the tattoo is exposed to the sun or a sunlamp so that the colour does not deteriorate, this will always have to be done, and it is also a good idea to protect black and white tattoos. Everyone will be given advice on adequate treatment according to their skin type and type of tattoo. If you have any doubts on how the skin is healing, come to the studio or phone, don’t take any initiatives yourself, we will assess any changes to be made so that it heals in the best way possible, so that any possible problems are avoided. After about a month come back to have the tattoo checked over and photographed so that it can be put into the studio’s photo album.
