4770 J.C. Nichols Pkwy.(aka Broadway), Kansas City, MO 816-753-2878. Sunday night at Fred P. Ott's, service industry night, is a long-standing tradition in Kansas City.
For some, it's the last hurrah before another boring workweek. For many others, it's a chance to see the great live music they miss during busy weekend bar, restaurant and retail shifts.
There is currently a $5 cover, it's always 21+, and the kitchen stays open until midnight. The drink prices are low, and the staff is incredible. What's not to love?
Shows start at 11pm, and usually include two bands. We all know at times the sound at "P. Ott's" is a little suspect, but you don't go for the sound...you go for the comraderie and atmosphere. If you go regularly, you'll start to recognize more than just a few faces as fellow KC music lovers know that P Ott's is THE place to spend their Sunday nights.
My Interests
