Ben Alper is a singer/songwriter who emerged onto the Pittsburgh music scene in late 2007 with his band, Second Favorite. With driving
rhythms on guitar, catchy melodies & lyrical flow that rivals many hip
hop artists, Ben Alper carries a sound that is hard to label but easy
to identify with. He draws his musical influence from everything from
rock, blues, hip hop, reggae & even european gypsy music.
Ben has entertained crowds with Second Favorite and as a solo artist at some of Pittsburgh's hottest music venues, including the Hard Rock Cafe, Club Cafe, Club Diesel & the Rhythm House. In October 2008, Ben and guitarist, Eric Granata, received 3rd place in the 2008 Pittsburgh Acoustic Challenge. Ben has opened for such nationally known artists as Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, Keaton Simons, and Pete Francis of Dispatch.
Ben is poised to take it to the next level in 2009. He is currently
in the studio working on a solo EP. Ben is looking forward to spreading the word about his unique brand of
songwriting, and he encourages you to spread the word too!
