So who are we? What are we? What do we sound like? Well, the answer to the third question is hopefully caressing your lovely, shell like ones as you read this. Who we are is a collective of individuals connected together by the desire to make an interesting and innovative sound. (We actually quite like each other too!) What we are is the bit we find most difficult to answer . . . Alternative? Indie? Rock? Other? We are a bit of all of these things but we are not at all convinced that we belong to either. We are . . . merely . . . GOD OF SMALL THINGS. It's the way we like it. We hope you like it too.
WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US:
"Discovered this lot, lurking in a corner at the Warehouse, being mixed by arch blender Big Tim, and was more than impressed with their sound...."
- Moshka (Back Room@Bullingdon Arms) - Nightshift Forum
"God of Small Things are reeet good, and their keyboard player is sickeningly talented for a chap barely out of short trousers. Well worth checking out if you like your catchy emo-piano-pop. (Terrible description, but they're a little hard to categorise without putting them in a boat with some truly awful bands like Coldplay and Keane that are comparable but really not the same. They're not like them at all, possibly more like Tori Amos after a sex change)"
- Big Tim (Warehouse Studios) - Nightshift Forum
"GOD OF SMALL THINGS, new to the Oxford scene, push a brooding diet of introversion tied to a surprisingly melodic indie/alternative rock. They have been likened to a post-apocalyptic Keane who’ve had their meds confiscated. Neither contemporary nor retro in design, their edgy, almost neurotic sound is the result of a musical kleptomania reserved for a bunch of dis-affecteds who never really gave a damn. This is NOT the usual type of band that one will see frequenting the local scene this summer, which is precisely why you should grab the chance to experience these guys for yourselves. Nuff said!"
