Tour de Bars is a new and fresh band on the Czech reggae scene. This group was formed by four ex-members of Brand NewSecond Hand, a reggae band playing from 2002 till June 2006. Those are Tyna (keyboard), Pafca (saxophone), Saymon(guitar) and Werii (drums) In February 2007, straight after the drummer came back from her half-year-long stay abroad, started practicing, butthey missed a bassist and a singer. So those four begun to seek. Surprisingly fast they found a real nightingale – thesinger Effka (before she sang with the ska-jazz band Chudak&Burak Orchestra), the bassist Ondrash, obviously born withthe guitar in his hands – and Maseer, a remarkable “multi-purpose†musician and a gifted composer who was cast as themelodica and percussions player. Beside Tour de Bars, Ondrash and Maseer also perform as the duo OSN (OrganizaceSpojenych Nastroju). Then the band Tour de Bars was increased by the trumpet player Hrom, well-known by all Czechska and ska-punk funs (as a member of 2v1 an ex-member of the bands Vertigo and Drunken Boomerang). After a few months he left the band. As the group made several breaks, especially during summertime, had rehearsed without showing-up until November 2007.Their first gig took place in a small, cosy Prague pub “Skabetka†where they yet performed as a no-name band.Nevertheless, they eventually decided for the name “Tour de Bars†which can be explained in two ways; either as “tourof pubs†or “tour of the sections in a line of musicâ€. The band will attempt to reach both meanings, however, thefirst one has rather corresponded to them so far. But let..s see how it changes, music is almighty. One love.
