My interest in music began when i was just 15. I was in the choir at school and after a while was asked to sing the odd solo, which I was only too happy to do.A year went by, singing some songs and getting nice little bits of praise, it was then my teacher realised that there may me more to my voice than we first thought.I decided to audition, at the age of 16, for some of the top music conservatoires in the country and, to my surprise, I was accepted at all.In September 1985 I started to study music and singing at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, there I stayed for 6 years, an amazing 6 years at that. After leaving College in 1991 I was quick to secure work, singing in some of the top Opera houses in the world, with some of the great singers like Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Angela Gheorghiu, Niel Schicov etc...After 5 good years singing, I decided, enough was enough, living out of a suitcase, in hotels with no friends, no family, just wasn't me so I came home and got back on my decks, decks I'd had for some time and through a twist of fate, met up with a few people who were into the whole "club" thing, this was the tonic I needed.I began to sink my teeth into a few club nights but was, more often than not, disappointed in the quality of the Dj's I was booking, regularly finding that they would play all the tunes they wanted to hear, so I decided to become more proactive, after all if a job's worth doing...To be honest, the Dj'ing went better than some of the nights i was promoting and soon it took over, i got offers from here, there and everywhere until, another chance meeting with the promoter of Venus, Manchester's longest running and without doubt, best night approached me and it was there I spent the next 5 years playing to the most awesome crowd, a time never bettered. Now I still play in Manchester, in an ever changing scene, with ever changing house music but I have one rule, it's got to be funky!
