I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!Amber Martin was born in Port Arthur, Texas and raised in Nederland, Texas with roots in bluegrass, country & western, gospel and folk by a large musically-inclined family, until she discovered Journey, Blue Oyster Cult, The Babys and Foreigner. As a result, she is a dancer, vocalist, actor, activist and performance artist. Ms. Martin's forte is making people laugh, think and remember through sound, simple story-telling and avant-garde visual stimuli. After achieving a BA in Dance at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, she endured a brief stint as a flight attendant, holding captive audiences. Having lived and performed professionally in Portland, Oregon for 11 years, Amber now lives in NYC, where she performs bi-monthly and DJ's weekly. Amby has produced, written, edited and starred in 2 critically acclaimed comic variety specials at Portland Cable Access, THE LARMITY SO FAR and JIGSAW SEESAW.In 1999, she formed a new-genre, multi-gender performance-dance-comedy group called House of Cunt* whose politically inspired, live shows exploded onto the Portland theatre scene in 2000. {ATTN Editors: House of Cunt* asks that if you are not able to print their name in your publications and/or correspondences, please refer to them as “a performance group whose name we cannot print†rather than abbreviate, obscure or otherwise censor their name—thank you}.Amber has produced, written, designed sound, choreographed and performed in these shows that have been described as; “the freshest night of theatre in ages...†and “a bracing surreality...that often borders on the genius...like choreographed breakdownsâ€, by the Willamette Week and “the funniest group in town†by the Oregonian.
