I enjoy just having a good time with friends and/or my partner (whoever/wherever he may be), whether that be catching a movie, going out to eat, sipping a glass of wine in a quiet restaurant, screaming to hear one another over beer in a sports bar, talking over coffee, shopping, reading, watching TV, and, of course, travel. I love to go to new places for long weekends and experience a city/area's culture or climate. My favorite destinations so far: London, Boston, P-Town, Sedona AZ, Hawaii, Chicago, Denver, L.A., Miami, NYC, Williamsburg/DC, and many destinations in the Caribbean on cruises. New places that I hope to visit soon include: Seattle and Paris.
Should it ever happen, I'm looking for a nice, stable, handsome guy with a propensity for fun and travel and possible LTR down the road. I'm not deadset on any specific physical characteristics, although I do tend to be attracted to taller guys (not hard at 5'7"). Sometimes, the taller the better. I also like a man who's versatile in his clothing. He can dress up for the theater or a nice dinner or wear shorts, a T-shirt, and sandals to go out and about. If he can pull off a baseball cap (I can't), all the better.
I would love to find someone I could talk to about anything. Communication has been something lacking in my past relationships, yet it's an important part of a successful relationship...from friends to partners. And if you're going to plan your entire life with someone...you want that someone to be someone you can talk to anything about...at any time of day.
I'm a big fan of 80's music, having grown up in the MTV generation (that was when MTV actually played music videos on the air). Some of my favorites include: Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, Belinda Carlisle, George Michael, Janet Jackson, Alanis Morissette, Michael Buble, Dave Matthews Band, U2, Janet (Miss Jackson, if you're nasty), Scissor Sisters, Nickelback, and Seven and the Sun.
When Harry Met Sally... is my all-time favorite. Star Wars (all of 'em), Indiana Jones (all of 'em), 9 to 5, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sleepless in Seattle, Pretty Woman, Chicago, Evita, Seven, Basic Instinct, and Grease are among my top faves.
I'll start by saying that I despise reality shows. :) My favorite script-written TV shows on the air now include Nip/Tuck, Big Love, Weeds, Lucky Louie, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Heroes, and Desperate Housewives. My faves of all time include I Love Lucy, Seinfeld, Friends, Golden Girls, Melrose Place, Roseanne, Will and Grace, Knots Landing, Beverly Hills 90210 (the first few seasons), Ellen, Queer as Folk, and Three's Company.
I'm an avid reader...always have been. In my younger days I was addicted to Judy Blume, George Selden, and the Encyclopedia Brown books. Now I love discovering new authors and reading their books. Recently, I've read "Magical Thinking" by Augusten Burroughs (he makes me laugh!), "The Falls" by Joyce Carol Oates, Alison's Smith memoir "Name All the Animals," "Towelhead" by Alicia Erian, "Haunted" by Chuck Palahniuk, "The Dogs of Babel" by Carolyn Parkhurst, and "We Need to Talk About Kevin" by Lionel Shriver.
I know it sounds silly, but Madonna is my biggest hero. She made a name for herself not caring what other people thought about her. She also continues to be popular, despite the controversies she stirs. She's a radical thinker and very open about her sexuality...something this country and its peoples need more of...And, speaking of heroes...
