It was at the age of 10, after her grandfather discovered an heirloom violin in the attic, that Jane Hunt first began to play the violin. Coming from a family of sportsmen and actively competing on the International Junior Tennis Circuit, music was always a hobby for Jane growing up. During her high school years Jane traveled extensively around the UK playing tennis on the International Junior Circuit and also made a trip to Zimbabwe, Africa as part of a field hockey tour . It wasn’t until the age of 17 that Jane decided she would like to seriously pursue a career in music and in 2001 auditioned and obtained a place at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. Whilst at college Jane gained experience on the stage playing concerts around the UK with her string quartet. Not only this but she was also chosen to combine her studies with the opera department as a singer and took part in many of the Operas performed at the Royal Northern College of Music. In May 2005 Jane graduated with a First Class Honors Degree. In the same month, Jane auditioned and joined Neo Camerata, an American based String Quartet that have been deemed to be "changing the face of classical music by combining the emotion and beauty if classical and the excitement and energy of pop music" With this group Jane has toured throughout Europe and USA performing in many prestigious festivals and concert halls, among which include; The Cannes Film Festival in France, Elton John's Lifeball Concert in Vienna, The Kennedy Centre, Washington DC and at The 60th Anniversary of the United Nations at The Paramount Theatre in San Francisco. Soon after joining Neo Camerata Jane was invited as a guest soloist to perform with The 3 Irish Sopranos. This led to 3 subsequent extensive tours of the USA where Jane performed a mixture of classical and celtic music as part of their show. Jane and the Irish sopranos travel extensively on their tour sometimes performing in as many as 10 different cities in only 14 days and mostly to sold out concert halls. As a recording artist, Jane has worked with Neo Camerata , Well Tempered Productions and the Allegro Record Label to produce the groups first album "Travels". The recording took place at George Lucas's legendary "Skywalker Ranch Soundstage" in Berkeley, California. The Album was released in October 2005 and in the same month the group were featured on the front cover of Allegro Magazine as "Americans Hot New Classical Stars". She also has was the soloist playing Brahms concerto for the latest Clark Johnson movie score. Jane most recent venture has been the establishment of her own record label "Violin Venus LLC has just completed her solo debut album.. For this she teamed up with guitarist James Riley and Isaac Alderson - the All-Ireland Senior Champion on uilleann pipes, flute, and whistle. Both James and Isaac are busy touring as part of the Eileen Ivers Band as well as having their own busy concert schedule in and around New York City. The album uniquely combines Celtic and Classical music and is already beginning to turn heads in the music world. Jane is currently working on the creation of a show that incorporates Classical, Celtic and Jazz Music. The show is currently being booked for 2008...
