About Me

Experiements due to start in late 2008 at CERN's Large Hadron Collider aim to recreate conditions similiar to those which existed at the time of the creation of the universe. People both inside and outside the physics community fear the experiments are unsafe and may sooner or later cause a catastropy of universal proportions. A project which was in no small part government funded, its finances could have gone a long way towards combating real world issues. Instead, they play risk with the world in pursuit of their dreams in sub-atomic physics.
This space has been set up to spread awareness of the risks a project due to be launched at CERN this year poses to our planet. For the first time in many decades someone has built a machine that exceeds all our powers of prediction, and although they estimate the possibility of accidentally destroying the planet as extremely low, the LHC propaganda machine that 'everything is safe' is well funded by your tax dollars, paying large salaries to thousands of people who have much to lose financially should the LHC be unable to prove its safety. As most of them perceive the risk to be small, they are willing to take that 'small risk' at our expense. The actual risk cannot presently be calculated, and a Large Hadron Collider [LHC] legal defense fund has even been set up to challenge CERN on the project. This is what others are now saying about the Large Hadron Collider development at CERN:
"There is a high probability that micro black holes (MBHs) will be produced in the LHC" "The CERN study indicates that MBHs present no danger because they will evaporate with Hawking evaporation. [Ref. 1] However, Hawking evaporation has never been tested. In several surveys, physicists have estimated a non trivial probability that Hawking evaporation will not work." "We estimate that for LHC the risk in the range of 7% to 10%." - http://www.risk-evaluation-forum.org
"The LHC will be the most powerful particle accelerator in the world." If MBH's are created, there is a likelyhood that some could fall unimpeded to the centre of the Earth under gravity "Scientists have estimated that a stable black hole at the center of the earth could consume not only France but the whole planet in the very short time span of between 4 minutes and 30 seconds and 7 minutes." "That age-old question: Will our planet disappear in the twinkling of an eye? - Now becomes a probability if and when the CERN facility is allowed to go on-line in 2008."
"On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, there was a devastating explosion deep in the tunnel at the CERN particle accelerator complex that actually blew a 20 ton magnet right off its mountings. The explosion filled the tunnel with helium and forced a mass evacuation of the facility. While the facility was supposed to go online during the summer of 2007, the new startup is tentatively summer of 2008 after 17 miles of magnets have been repaired or replaced. This explosion, to those of us who count ourselves among the worried masses, appears to be an ominous foreshadowing of what could eventually become the Second-Coming of the Big Bang... The director of Fermilab, Pier Oddone, blithely wrote about the disaster stating that they had caused "a pratfall on the world stage". A pratfall ? Should these Keystone-scientists be entrusted with the fate of the world in their hands? .. In 2008, when they fire up the Large Hadron Collider, Global Warming and Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network will suddenly become the least of our earthly worries." - http://www.misunderstooduniverse.com

NOTE: This site is NOT affiliated in any way with the LHC Legal Defense Fund, nor does it agree or disagree with the opinions quoted. This space has been set up by a concerned citizen merely to spread awareness that there are many unanswered questions to CERN's activities, and as such they should not be allowed to commence until there is a unanimous opinion that what they are doing poses no risk to destroying our planet.
Perhaps together we can create enough noise about the risks such that CERN will be bowed by public opinion to suspend their start date until at least the legal challenge can be mounted.
Remember it is your life and your world that they're playing lottery with.
