Relay For Life is a 24 hour event that raises money for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services. Relay For Life started 22 years ago by a doctor in Washington that treated cancer patients and saw the need for funding for researching this disease.11 years ago, the Uintah Basin (Utah) started its very own chapter of Relay For Life. We have so many wonderful and caring businesses and people that are so willing to help, that it was astonishing to see how our numbers have grown. 2007 was our highest recorded fundraising year to date...raising over $165,000!!! Making us the #1 Relay in ALL of Utah!Our Relay will captivate anyone who comes to witness such an event. We have cancer SURVIVORS that open up our Relay with an inspiring survivor lap. If that isn't motivation enough, we have a luminaria ceremony held at dusk...this magical moment illuminates the whole track of our local high school as well as the hearts that walk around it. It honors those we loved that are fighting this battle and those we have lost. A truely incredible time to bond with each other. But don't worry, we are NOT having a pity party here....however, we DO party ALL NIGHT LONG!! 24 hours to be specific! We have food, games, live entertainment, competitions, midnight dinner and a show, tent site decoration prizes, etc. THIS...you will NOT want to miss!
