All I care to do these days is just get 5 min of alone time a day. IF I get that then you'll find me mostly a happy gal. I could say that I enjoy dining out, shopping, wine tasting, reading, cooking, gardening, but that would all be icing on the cake. Yep, alone time is all I'm really pumped up for anymore. Sad, but true. Really, if you know my kids then you'll 100% understand.
Some incredibly rich guy to come and sweep me off my feet and tell me I can leave this cruel world of having to work for a living behind me. (Just don't tell Shawn) ;)
Topping my list are Frou Frou, The Killers, Zero 7, The Shins, Morcheeba (thank you Kelly), Blackalicious, Carol King, Kaskade, Feist, Depeche Mode, Keane, Norah Jones, Jamiroquai, Pigeon John, Sara Bareilles & Colbie Caillat.
I can always go for a bucket of buttery popcorn and Sliding Doors, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Monsoon Wedding, Fried Green Tomatoes, Spaceballs, Strictly Ballroom, Eat Drink Man Woman, The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation or Like Water For Chocolate.
Dexter, Dirty Sexy Money, Weeds, Californication, Samantha Who?, True Blood, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, Pushing Daisies, Eureka, 30-Rock, No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain and the British version of Kitchen Nightmares.
If I'm lucky to read a book (which seems to take up to a month these days with all the kid-oriented things that take priority) I like to enjoy authors such as David Sedaris, Sheri Reynolds, Jane Austen, Carl Sagan, Augusten Burroughs, Jeffery Steingarten, Frances Mayes. However, since time is of the essence most of the time a magazine will simply have to do (to this I have zero qualms) so you can find me perusing periodicals such as Real Simple, Parenting, Saviour, Food & Wine, Martha Stewart, People, In Style and Allure.
I am my own hero. Seriously. I've been through all kinds of shit and still seem to come out somewhat on top and no worse for wear.
