About Me

Well, where do I begin? I was born in England, in Paddington to be precise, in February, 1963. My full name is Sealhenry Olusegun Olumide Samuel. My dad, Adebisi Samuel, came from Nigeria and my mom, Francis was Brazilian. When I was a boy, I came down with a case of the lupus. It's what gives me these deep scars on my face. My mom always said they made me look distinguished, but to be totally honest, I've always been somewhat self conscious about it. When people ask, I usually tell them that I got them when I was jumped into a gang. You see, I used to run with the Hillcrest Trece Vattos as a kid.I soon discovered that gang life was going to lead me nowhere and after being nearly killed in a driveby at fourteen, I made the most important decision of my life. I turned away from drugs and violence and began living for the Lord, Jesus Christ. However, it didn't take long for me to realize that putting my faith in a less handsome man was tantamount to dissapointment and disenchantment. After many months of soul seeking, my spiritual journey lead me to the one true faith- narcissism. For hours on end I would meditate naked in front of a mirror, backlit and with my muscular nubile body glistening in the afternoon sun. The local parks and recreation authorities, not to mention the San Diego police department, didn't take too kindly to my using the Adam's elementary school playground for my meditations. Soon, I was arrested and humiliated in the local newspapers, libelously branding me as an exhibitionist and pervert. My appeal is still pending in the California supreme court system, in the meantime, I still have about 230 community service hours to go. What's worse is the fact that I had to sell my boat to pay for the fines and attorney's fees, not to mention the lawsuit that was levied against me by the San Diego Elementary School District and the Local Parent- Teacher's Association. But enough of that for now...My music career took off when I recorded the vocals on the Adamski single, "Killer", which was a UK number one hit in 1990 (I signed a contract to Sire Records), and subsequently had solo hits such as "Crazy", "Prayer for the Dying", and "Kiss from a Rose" in 1995, which appeared in the film Batman Forever. In 1996 I covered the Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like an Eagle" for the Space Jam soundtrack.I have released three self-titled albums in 1991, 1994 and 2003.The first single released of the 2003 album was called "Get It Together".Seal Discography Year Title Label 1991 Seal (1991) Sire Records 1994 Seal (1994) Sire Records 1998 Human Being Sire Records 2003 Seal (2003) Sire Records
