He was a wonderful role-model, mentor, and friend. We had countless evenings of dominos and stories of the good-old-days. The year I spent with him will help to form my future career, lifestyle, and outlook on life. Once my grandfather passed away this last May, I reconnected with my karate master in Japan. He wanted me back at the school to help teach and join some tournaments. Since I had made a promise before I came back to the States to live with my grandpa, I decided to return to Japan and fulfill my promise. I taught at the dojo for about three months before moving back to the States to head for school. Now I find myself at the SRJC, taking courses to enter the nursing program. I'm overwhelmed by all the classes I'm taking, but I really enjoy being in a learning environment like that again. Wish me luck.
