Formed in 2003, Bushnut is the coming together of two factions, Rapper/producer Marcus Williams and Nik Hodges' Hip Hop/Electro hybrid FLAK.
In late 2002 Marcus conceived a project which incorporated the energy of club music (breakbeats, techno) with noise and general mayhem of live distorted guitars, drums, etc. He had demoed two tracks Adrenaline Rush and Music owes me money, all that was missing was the live band.In January 2003, Marcus saw FLAK perform at his local live venue and it was clear that the band was already on his musical wavelength. Williams approached the band and Bushnut were born.
The Band definitely have a unique sound but their fans best describe them as a cross between Rage Against The Machine and The Chilli Peppers. They have also gained a solid reputation as a memorable live act.
Over the past couple of years, Bushnut's music has been widely used in television, most notably for shows like Las Vegas with James Caan and the band also recorded a rap/rock version of Bad Boys for the American TV show Cops. You can hear there song Adrenaline Rush regularly on the Wrestling show TNA Impact, it is broadcast across the world and attracts upwards of 1.5 million viewers a week in the US alone.INFO & LABEL CONTACT: [email protected]
