the cocoa beach sunrise goddessI learned to play instruments since my p's introduced piano to me at the ripe old age of 5. From there I learned drums, guitar, and even the trombone. I loved the way you could wah-wah the notes to make funky ass sounds. Playing in multitudes of bands from grunge and industrial all the way to jazz and ska... my main love soon became that of the electronic music genre.Collecting wax since '91, the flavor of progressive house, miami bass, and the fusion to become Florida breaks set the stage for the funk-test vibration of my soul, yet could find that true spirit in any sub-class form of digable grooves. Playing out at local clubs in Tampa, I worked my way up to the legendary MARZ family of old school days very quickly.. without ever owning tables back then. I believe each night had its own energy and every record was a note of a symphony for a powerful rolercoaster set. With promoters Paris and Laura, they introduced me to a slew of legends like Ken Jordan of Crystal Method and Fat Boy Slim and I watched and took in everything I could. Music became not only a passion, but an obsession. Ultimately, I met up with DJ Tony Faline and in '97 Tony asked to take over the Pure room at legendary 1509 on Saturday nights in Ybor. There, I explored more of the progressive / house sounds. And, late nights at CLUB 60, Tobacco CO. and warehouse parties I became known for my spontaneous co-genre mixes and tried as hard as I could to set the house on fire. While collecting wax, I had the honor to work for Mr Johnny Pease at the Groove and also work with the old Urban Rage fam. From all these experiences, I also had the honor to play with local legends of Dj Icey, Baby Anne, Fixx and Huda Hudia to international legends such as Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox and Kimball Collins... and a multitude of many others.Quoated from Groove magazine - "Kenny's hard work and dedication to the scene undoubtedly made him one of the Bay area's most sought out talents." Yeah, I like that ego boost =)... But really, as early promoters from the Tampa old days Paris and Laura said.. "it wasn't just the way he made the crowd move - you could just tell he had a heart and loved every moment." That's what it's all about.. the heart. Now, I focus mainly on the production side of the music with the fusion of all my knowledge From the eneRgy and stYles of progressivE anD breaks along with my vast knowledge of symphonic music with piano, guitar, trombone, and drums. An organic fusion of electronic syncopated beats with live instrumentation is my next mind and soul experiment. Quanta Styles, maybe??
