My daughter started this page for me. I am a songwriter who is better with lyrics than melodies, so I am always on the lookout for someone to co-write with.
Bio:
She is the married and the mother of 2 grown children. She lives in Southern Mississippi and was raised in the hills of Tennessee.
So why, you ask, is Johnnie on here making music? Because it's her life. Just listen to "He Gave Me a Song" and you'll know why this songbird flies so high, even after all the struggles in life have tried to hold her down.
She was the winner of the 2nd place award for "Lyrics Only" by the Mountain Valley Arts Council in 2003.
She is a member of NSAI.
She was a semi-finalist in the Tupelo Gumtree Festival Songwriting Competition and performed there in 2007.
Her family is very much into music-maybe different styles, but all very much musically inclined. Also, a friend she has known for years and sung with, co-written with is Ray West.
