It was with a deep passion for music & people that Freddy Holler aka Flyfingaz found his niche in the late 90’s with a pair of old record players. Best known for lifting the Gold Coast music world to a new level, Flyfingaz shook up the scene, creating fusions of fat ‘n’ funky sounds with live improvisation from African percussionists, flamenco guitarist, MC’s, vocalists and jazz musicians. Here forming ‘The Phunk Junkies’ which branched out to several of today’s successful developments such as Tijuana Cartel and Kolab, as well as opening up new prospects for individual artists careers.
In 2002, Flyfingaz headed to New Zealand to team up with UK Vocalist Renee Simone, creating ‘Ghetto – fatbeats ‘n’ freestylers’, an event embracing the unique NZ sounds and artists while touring the country and continuing down the East coast of Australia drawing a huge following. After 6 months in Sydney, spinnin Breaks ‘n’ Hiphop in clubs, and entertaining art exhibitions with blues, jazz, n world music, Flyfingaz retreated the big smoke for beautiful Northern NSW. Here formed ‘Skyrider’ described as “free flowing and ever morphing, funky percussive electro beats with soul.” which was well received in venues all around.
For the past 2 years he’s been collaborating with infamous breaks legend Tigerlily to form “TIGERFLY” and has established great friendships, and performed with highly respected producers Precision Cuts, Rogue Element, Ninelives the Cat, Friendly, Chris Carter, Madox, Def Inc, and local bands… Oka and Tijuana Cartel. Now working on the cultural music project ‘Essence Projectile’ and collaborating with one of Australia’s most promising and talented music collective... Tijuana Cartel. Freddy Holler’s future looks bright as he cranks the musical atmosphere on the Gold Coast with regular events at Swingin Safari (Sundays), L9one (Saturdays), Solbar (Sunny Coast), and at ‘Art of Mother Earth’ events, rockin the coast with killer sounds n didgeredoo.
