Reverend Dr. Edward & Associate Minister Shirline Franz were joined in Holy Matrimony on March 18, 2002 by Reverend Anthony Davidson (Pastoral Assistant to Benny Hinn Ministries).
Church of the Comforter was founded in 1977 by Reverend Dr. Edward Franz who has been preaching since 1949. Dr. Franz, Staff Sargent in the US Airfoce, graduate of Southwestern University, South Eastern University and Texas Christian University, ministered to death row inmates in Texas and is joined by his wife and Associate Minister Shirline. Dr. Franz was employed as a Corporate Traffic Manager of a Major steel corporation and was listed in the Who's Who of Traffic Managers of America. Shirline, is the third great grandaugther of respected lawyer and Colonel John Almus Gardner, first President of the Nashville and Northwestern Railroad. She is also the fifth great grandaughter of George Washington's (father of our country) great Uncle. She is the daughter of recording artist and painter Louise Hester-Arnold DBA LouStan Art, in California and websites. Shirline is a gifted speaker and singing artist. She has performed for various audiences and has used her gift of singing and worship to lead those who are hurting to Christ. It was through a death experience and long hardships that Shirline attained the ability to reach the unreachable. It is through the united gifts of the spirit that Dr. and Shirline have been able reach deep into the hearts of those who have been rejected and hurting.Reverend Dr. and Shirline's ministry reaches within and beyond its walls and across the United States, Canada and Europe. It is through their own personal triumphs that God has equiped Dr. and Shirline to minister to hundreds of lives possitively. They have impacted the lives of many through their healing and deliverance ministry. They compare the church/house of God to that of a hospital. People go to church to get well not sick. The church's mission is to preach salvation, the fullness of God's Word and the power of His Holy Spirit, to a lost generation.
