About Me

OFFICIAL HISTORY
Jet Pack is a group of best friends who met at University. Paul, Sam and Rich lived together and decided they wanted to form a band and start gigging. The first songs were written over the summer of 2007 and recorded in September by good friend Guy of local band 'Death Ohh Eff' (formerly Death 05). Tom joined the band when the guys returned to Uni in the autumn and Jet Pack started gigging in November. Despite never having been in bands before the guys quickly racked up 20 odd gigs and quickly realised that gigging was the best thing in the world. With some guest performances along the way from Guy of 'Death Ohh Eff', Carl of Stratford band '38 Days' and Tom's fellow Cornwall native Dennis - who joined the band full-time in summer '08 to complete the line-up.
Since then injury has ravaged the members of Jet Pack...well two of them...Paul underwent shoulder surgery (insert random joke speculating on what he must have been doing to require shoulder surgery) and Rich broke not one, but two thumbs...(rumour has it from jamming them up his own ass for "the pleasure").
Over the years we have grown up on: Pop Punk, Motown, Progressive Thrash, Hip-Hop, Hardcore, Pop, Alternative and Emo/Screamo/Post-Hardcore - whatever the hell they call it these days. Anyway! The point isn't name checking and genre parading. It's song writing. We are sick of the current UK music scene and what's going on in the "mainstream". Music is saturated with soulless auto-tune and play-it-safe jingly-jangly indie. To use the industry term...we think it's bullshit. We won't deny our love of hooks but for fuck sake! Where did the honesty go?
Our goal is simple: we want to write songs that we'd want to hear and play them to as many of you as possible.
