Postmodern World?
Maybe the war of the worlds had some fun imaginary aim
But I can sure tell you that the war of this world is not just some extraordinary claim
When war is peace and peace is war just as in 1984 than how do we know what is real
When truth does not exist anymore than how do we know who the enemy really is
Or if an enemy exists at all
Will we fall
Into destruction if we have not already
Has the world come and gone, passed before our shallow eyes
Are they even lies anymore that they are telling
Or do even they not know the truth of their words
And who is they and what are words, can we even explain the two
If words do not represent what is real or how we may feel
Than what does death mean
What is war
Do we really care
Does it matter if things are fair if we are getting what WE want
We are not dead
Yet
Let things take there course as long as we are not the ones getting bombed
Can peace ever exist
Or should we just have more enlist
Into this war which has no meaning
Why are we killing each other
What are we trying to gain
Or is it that we are feigning that killing will get us what we want
What is that again
What is it that we want
Do any of us really know
Oh of course it is the stuff for show
The house, the cars, the land
The biggest and the best
Again where will this get us once we lay to rest
What about true happiness and love
Why do we so easily forget what is important
Is it because we have lost the meanings of these words too
what do we do
resort back to what we know best
ignorance and killing and war
is it hopeless
should I just lay my words to rest
because they to do not have meaning either
