Anoxia started in may 1996 with mark Rodrick/drums Brian hall/guitar Darin rogers/guitar Dennis Santos/bass and Dan pevide on vocals they recorded there 6 song ep in October 1997 and was released in June 1998 after the recording Darin left the band which resulted in anoxia becoming a 4 piece. after a short period of time Dennis decided to leave the band and Chris McCarthy of Icor replaced him on bass just in time for the 99 Milwaukee metal fest.Then anoxia decided to get another guitarist and found Dax Ross which was in the band for a short while Shortly mike switzer replaced him on guitar then Brian Hall had to leave. Anoxia decided to record a promo and during a recording of the promo CD recording engineer Dave boccuzzi became interested in becoming a second guitarist for anoxia and learn t the material very quickly and later joined the band. after the promo came out Brian came back and shortly mike decided to leave do to personal reasons and anoxia persuaded again as a 4 piece. In 2002 anoxia recorded a full length called intense killings which was also recorded by Dave boccuzzi. shortly after Dave joined the band then again Brian had to leave do to his hand injury as the year went by mark was enduring to much activities in his life which affected his playing mentally and physically and mark was let go and josh rowel replaced him on drums and that caused anoxia to change the songs a bit and decided to not put out what was recorded and rerecord the CD in 2003 and was released in June 2004 on pathos productions during that time Brian came back again and again Dave left the band in November 2004 for about 2 years anoxia went strong as a 4 piece then on a sad day in April 2006 anoxia called it quites.
