Hi ' This is Paul Bascomb Jr. son of jazz Hall of Fame sax man Paul Bascomb and welcome to my myspace page. I come from a musical family. My my uncle Wilbur Bascomb a great jazz Trumpet player and his son Wilbur Jr. an exceptional Bass player, and Wilbur Jr.s daughter Ruderial Bascomb who is a artist here on Myspace. My mother Sang in her early years under the name of Gloria Valdez and my brother Ken of LaKay Production who like myself produces and plays both Guitar and Keys. Being in such a Family I've met met quit a list of People like Dick Gregory, the late Sammy Davis Jr. Would call and wake my sister, my brother and I for school when we were young. Eartha Kitt, the late great Dizzy Gilespy, Sammy Lowe, Chicacgo's Guitar Red and many more. I've also had the pleasure of working on stage or in the studio with Duke Fakir and Lawrence Roquel Payton Jr. of the Four Tops, Bernard Gibson and Greg Finley of Dennis Edwards Temptations as Well as Willie Ford of the Dramatic's. Gerald Lylse of Chapter8 has been great friend of mine mine for many years. I played guitar behind the Contours and the Fantastic Four for a number of years as well as Carl Carlton and Orthea Barnes to name a few. At the time I'm producing on my own and with long time friend A.J. Sparks who played drums for the Detroit Emeralds and many other artist where i met jazz guitarist Robert Lowe, Ron Smith son of Bobby Smith of the Spinners who play's guitar behind his father.The late great original Funk Brother Joeseph Hunter, Saxophonist Mike Flemming, Keyboard player Willie Wooten and I can't forget Joe Billingslea, Odell Jones and Chuck Davis of the Contours who I continue to keep in touch with. well that's enough of that I'm not much for writing.
