Hi, I'm Tony Hadley, thanks for stopping by my page.
Maybe we have some things in common, maybe not. I got on MySpace to meet new people, make new friends and to network with people.
I'll tell you a little about myself. Life is exciting, it's what you make of it.
The boring usual start: I grew up in downtown Downingtown, a working class town in Pennsylvania. And, like most of my friends around me at that time, I started working in a factory out of high school. Blah, blah, blah. Then, I went to a technical school and became a mechanic. I liked the work but all that money you pay for repair bills doesn’t go to the mechanic. Oh, did I say mechanic? I’m sorry, the new term is “Auto Technician.†Yeah, whatever.
Needed something more exciting: so, I looked for some way to get ahead and found network marketing. I joined several different companies over a period of time but never made any money, didn’t get much help or training. I went to college at age 26.
Getting more interesting: that got me involved in politics. I know, you don’t discuss politics or religion in mixed company (that got me in trouble a few times).
Nevertheless, my idealism led me into politics to try to change economic policy. I was a candidate for the U.S. Congress (House of Representatives) several times. But being honest and idealistic in politics means making no money and running in to brick walls. The interesting thing though, from all that I had learned, I talked about the financial crash coming. That was about 20 years ago! I saw it coming, even back then, which is why I, and the group I was working with, wanted to change the economic policy.
Well, I guess you can tell…we didn’t succeed. But, I sure learned a lot. Some of the things I found out would blow most people away. They couldn’t handle the truth about what goes on behind closed doors in smoke filled rooms.
Anyway, I got into computer networking and like what I do. It’s a pretty fascinating world, monotonous at times, but really interesting how data and voice move around the world through the internet and phone systems (you might be thinking- that sounds pretty boring, oh well).
I like to do exciting things, it’s not all techno-mania in my world. I love to travel, been to many countries, mostly European. In fact, I married a beautiful woman from Ukraine, one of the countries I had visited. I met her on the internet first, in case you’re wondering. One of my hobbies is making red wine; another is drinking it. I like beer too but I don’t make it. I visit some of the local establishments in West Chester, Downingtown area for that. I appreciate micro breweries popping up everywhere.
I like to do active things like ski, riding motorcycles, quads, jetskis. I used to race moto-cross in my teens. Horseback riding is a lot of fun. I did my first skydive several years ago. It was scary but what an adrenaline rush! I like to keep active, although, married life has slowed me down a bit. Oh well, it happens.
Keeping an active lifestyle is tough in today’s economy. People can’t always afford to do the things they want to do. But, some people have found a way to develop several sources of income and get what they want out of life.
I spend a lot of nights hanging out on the internet with those people learning and applying their secrets. It’s safer to create some kind of backup plan. It seems almost everywhere I go there’s a sad personal story about the economy.
So, what kind of activities do you like? How is the economy affecting you? I’d like to hear about your story.
