About Me

Bred out of the remains of past metal outfits, Flowers For Dorian began in a basement nestled in the northern Chicago suburbs in December of 2005. The band, comprised of veterans of the vexing Chicago hardcore scene. In the band's albeit brief tenure, the acclaimed death pop foursome has gained much notoriety for their sinuous melodies and chaotic live shows. And while the band has graced the stage of many esteemed Chicago venues—The Metro, Beat Kitchen, Lakeshore Theater, et al—Flowers For Dorian is still no stranger to busted PA systems at basement gigs, roller rinks and hole-in-the-wall bars."We're kids who just plug in and play," scoffs lead vocalist/guitarist Hall. That laissez-faire approach to performing at any and all venues has certainly held true, but the band's stage presence is anything but meek. FFD has subsequently stampeded through indie and hardcore crowds alike with a smirk on their collective face.
Flowers For Dorian's self-released EP Phone Calls, Car Rides is set to come out in the fall of 2007. It was recorded at Abstract Recordings in Nashville, TN with producer Nick Baumhardt. With such potent songs as "Love Remains" and "B Horror Film", along with the album's coda "Frail", the record has certainly garnered much anticipation upon its release.
