About Me
If you asked any music listener what they are looking for in an artist, they will basically have the same answer. The words that would stand out would be, talent, creativity and most of all great performance! When it comes to reggae music, Supa Frost is your answer! The name was given to him when he arrived in New York in the winter of '89. After barely escaping a mild case of frostbite, his friends joked about it in later days and began calling him Frost ever since.
Not from Jamaica as most reggae artists are derived, this Barbados native has been grooming and sculpting his talents over the years in the heart of Flatbush, Brooklyn. His first break came in 1992 when he was recognized by a local producer while performing at a club in Jamaica, NY. The producer took him to Sir Tommy's studio in Brooklyn to record his first single entitled "Day Dream".
Supa Frost also performed alongside such acts as Super Cat, Maxi Priest, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Spragga Benz and Sanchez just to name a few. During his performances, he showcases his talent by transforming his voice from rough and raspy to silky and melodic while simultaneously delivering positive messages about love and life.
Over the years, Supa Frost has recorded with many producers. In 1998, he decided to build his own recording studio and record label, "Frost Ent. Records". His label also provides an outlet for the local youth by allowing them to exercise their talent and diverting their attention from the crime and violence that surrounds them. He has elevated his talents from song writing to producing, engineering and arranging music, which puts him in a class by himself. If you ask Supa Frost to define himself in two words, he would tell you he’s "Highly Favoredâ€.
Currently, Supa Frost is in the studio working on new his album with the Unity Band. By no suprise, Frost's newly released single “See it Deh†is burning up the airwaves and underground circuit. New York City can’t get enough of Supa Frost, and soon the world will crave for his positive vibes as well. His fan's are desperately waiting for his album to drop, but for now we’ll just have to stay tuned. Bless up!
