BIO
Crazy Horse, Marlon Brando and Shotie. What do they all have in common? They’re Nebraskans, and from a town in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska where the country meets da hood, aka Shotie was born, and the next big artist to watch! This 22 year old Rapper, mad Lyricist and Producer says, “I grew up in a town of fools, fakers and very few demonstrators and I’ve been writing rhymes since I was in Jr. High Schoolâ€. Shotie grew up tough and da streetz ain’t always been kind to kids like Shotie who are always trying to find their way.
Shotie’s talent far exceeds his past life, and being a gifted freestyle artist as well as producer Shotie found his way outta those streetz and into parties and then stepping up to the mic to express himself. Shotie told me, “after running into O$O, I saw him selling cds and busted a freestyle right on the spot. I can’t remember actually how long it was till I received a phone call from Lil Blvd from Phat Trax Entertainment. After dat, I went to Bayard , Nebraska and recorded my first song. It was called “Toe 2 Toeâ€. Shotie’s first performance was at the Guadalupe Center in 2001 where he was schooled on the basics of recording from Lil Blvd. Shotie then started recording at his home in Nebraska . Another show stopping performance in Greely , Colorado where he met T Low and after that performance Shotie hit the underground with his cds. He says, “I was handing cds out selling them myself. I was doing whatever I had to do to get my music out there. I got alotta love. After the buzz, homies start calling me Scotts Bluff’s finest due to my rhyming abilityâ€.
In 2006 Shotie moved to Phoenix , Arizona and once again hit the streetz and underground running with this cds. You could find Shotie everywhere, even at the gas station selling cds. Being in that atmosphere Shotie had the opportunity to do another show at La Perala with Pimp Style Records. Shotie mentioned to me that “I got mad love here in Arizona . I did collabos with a few underground artist like “RIP†Young Brail of Soultaker Records, Sarge, T Low, Lil Blvd, O$O, Young Glocc, Biggo and more. And if I forgot your names, my bad homiesâ€.
Shotie’s been working with rap artist from Texas , Big O$O and the rest of his boyz at Murdaholix Records. Shotie said, “I got my eyez set on the prize. I’m just trying to find a better path than these streetz. I’m doing this for the people. The real people dat can understand me and for the ones that can’t understand, forget y’all, ha, ha. I’m the realist @utha ucca on the planet. I don’t see competition. All I see is certain victory or death and I ain’t done yetâ€.
