“Ear-catching music... some of the best in Chicago.â€-Jim DeRogatis, Chicago Sun-Times
Namky Lim's sister took him to see "The Blues Brothers", and he was never the same again. While not necessarily of a divine impulse, he found himself devoted to music with the same kind of passion as his heroes in the classic Chicago film. A self-released EP, Nothing Personal, came out in 1999. Later, Mr. Lim and former bandmate Derek Glowacki formed Triple Process, a band that was heavily influenced by late 90s electronica. Triple Process, with drummer Jay DiGiovanni, achieved a large amount of success in just a year. They had played major Chicago venues such as the Metro, Double Door and Empty Bottle; the band was at its peak when it landed a heavily coveted slot on the main stage of the 2002 World’s Largest Block Party, opening up for Los Lobos.
By 2003, Mr. DiGiovanni and Mr. Glowacki had decided to devote more time to their jobs in the Chicago Fire Department and Chicago Police department, respectively. Mr. Lim and Triple Process producer/keyboardist Charlie Williams played a series of successful shows in 2004 under the nom de guerre, Please Please Wait. Mr. Lim moved to Los Angeles in October 2005, where he is writing new material and rehearsing with new bandmate (and old college buddy), DJ G Mann. Mr. Lim hopes to become successful enough to merit his own life story being put on microfilm, to be discovered by future music nerds.
