Among so many mourners who wept openly for police officer Sonia Garcia at her burial in Cypress Hills Thursday, her two daughters, their eyes dry, drew close at their mother's coffin. Ashley, 11, who was wearing her mother's police hat, turned to her sister Joselin, hugged her, and placed the hat on her head... a four-deep line of police officers stood at attention Thursday morning as the hearse carrying Garcia's coffin approached the church.... two city police helicopters whirred overhead... Garcia's mother said through tears: "She was a good mother, daughter and partner who never did wrong to anybody. "She was my friend, my sister, my life, my everything. How will I live without her?"...

The parents of slain police officer Sonia Garcia are in agony: The man they believe killed their daughter still walks the streets.
"Everyone knows who the killer is, and I don't understand why the killer is not in jail," her father, Luis Hernandez, said yesterday, speaking out for the first time since his daughter was killed on Sept. 29...
...Speaking at home in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill, the victim's mother, Lucia Hernandez, said: "They've got to do whatever they've got to do to give us justice. "
Garcia's father trembled with rage... Garcia's sister, Evelin Hernandez, said the girls just started school again yesterday, but it is still a struggle for all of them... "They're strong girls, just like their mother," she said.
"We wake up every morning and we hope that it's a dream . Then we realize that it's for real"...
