About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Chinese purple

I read Art History for my Bachelor of Arts, specialising in Oriental Arts (esp. Japanese poetry prints and calligraphic aesthetics), and then my Master's Degree in (Analytical) Philosophy, with a focus on the Metaphysics of Aesthetics (aesthetic consciousness/experience, aesthetic properties), theories of perception and the philosophies of Schopenhauer and Kant. I adore beauty and everything poetic. One of the quotes dearest to my heart is: "Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." (Antoine de Saint Exupéry) "Leonardo's Lady", artwork of dye transfer photograph by Audrey Flack. (Thank you Michiko for the introduction!)

My Interests

*Below two photos courtesy of Tommy @ www.thisisnaive.comNathan Milstein plays Bach Partita #3.The most satisfying relations of the sensible must therefore correspond to the necessary phases of artistic apprehension. Find these and you will find the qualities of universal beauty. Aquinas says: ad pulchritudinem tria requiruntur, integritas, consonantia, claritas. James Joyce translates it as: Three things are needed for beauty, wholeness, harmony and radiance.(James Joyce, "The Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man")
