Toby One Kenobi

Hi my name is Toby. I am a fine arts student in my third year at university. Painting is my passion, I have been drawing since I was tiny and these days i like to paint big, oil and canvas are what i most like as my mediums. My two favourite painters are Francis Bacon and Daniel Richter (that IS Daniel, not Gerhard!). Ofcourse I admire hundreds of others but recently I have gotten most of my inspiration from them. I got much inspiration from expressionist painting and I like paintings that are very large. I'm still figuring out how to paint which, as any artist will tell you, is a long and sometimes gruesome and devastating task. My friends in Christchurch group Tuchul Linguists have been producing some excellent work and inspire me to express my art vocally and lyrically as well as visually. I collaborate with them on occasion (MC name: Tobi One Kenobi) and will be featuring on their upcoming mixtape "Pocket Full of Contraband" and am also doing the album artwork so look out for that.
