After earning top honors as the National Junior College Player of the Year in 1998, Marion transferred to UNLV and was widely regarded as the Runnin Rebels' best recruit since former No. 1 NBA pick and college player of the year Larry Johnson in 1989... Marion played his junior year at UNLV, where he led the team in scoring (18.7 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg), but opted to turn pro after only one Division I season. He blocked 54 shots and had 73 steals in 29 games...
