About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorStardate 1997: Alan Partridge was livid at the thought of "there's a cow on my boat, there's a cow on my boat."But Partridge was not the only person worried a SaniFlow 33 would not save his vessel from a watery grave. The good ship KAFKA was heading for stormy waters after arguably their most prolific year to date.In fact they would end 1997 all but sunk, imploded and horribly wrecked. All this from a band which many thought would inherit the mantle as the UK's kings of dark electro pop.It was a year which had seen landmark gigs, hob-nobbing with the stars and more.Described by one critic as "Depeche Mode and the Chemical Brothers shoved through a Millennium blender" another added "surely 1998 will be their year". All looked rosey.Tragically it never was.And all this after heading from their spiritual home Preston to the mighty Mode's world album launch of Ultra where such comments as "you boys are fook'in top" (Maxim, Prodigy) to "if I wasn't so pished I'd swear you were a good idea" (Anton Corbijn) rang in their ears.By the Millennium, the KAFKA partnership - that glowing beacon of electro attitude amidst a sea of turgidly whirring indie guitars - was no more.UNTIL NOW.As if by magic the KAFKA boys are talking again and ready to stick their heads above the parapets. The old name is no more, (we'll leave that to the countless number of goth rock and Italian breakbeat acts which appear to have nicked it while we've been away!!)So meet OLYMPIC.Boasting the same dark electro roots, we bring a new power-packed approach which we will air in 2008.So KAFKA fans, ditch the old T-shirt and get a new one with our fancy new logo. And in case anyone is wondering where the name came from - no its not an ode to Seb Coe and London - we're named after a ship and a little ditty by the majestic 808 State. All aboard OLYMPIC - it's set to be a hell of a ride!

Have Olympic become the new Sub Sub?

Due to a Sub Sub become the Doves kind of studio tragedy (remember the fire and the loss of their collaboration with Barney Sumner), and to avoid any further delay for the Trapped Nerve posse, we have...
