"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from here and make a brand new ending."
So many memories and so many miles the road that stretches behind us; We've had some laughter and our share of tears But all these moments unite us.
I'll be your friend for a lifetime, Against the wind and the rain of every season; Won't walk away in the hard times. I will be your friend; I'm saying I will be your friend.
Sure as the river runs to the sea; High as the mountain that reaches; You were there by my side till the end and helped me on my feet again.
I'll be your friend for a lifetime. Against the wind and the rain of every season; Won't walk away in the hard times. I will be your friend; I'm saying I will be your friend.
So in the valley walk on, Don't have to face it alone. Cause in the hard times We keep growing strong. As we learn, as we live, That we live when we give.
I'll be your friend for a lifetime; Against the wind and the rain of every season. Won't walk away in the hard times. I will be your friend; I'm saying I will be your friend. ~MWS
I have a Balinese (silky Siamese) cat named Sophie. She's the most devoted cat ever! She is also the lickyest cat I've ever owned and bathes me til I'm covered in cat spit!
I also have a blonde Lab named Biskit and a puppy named Marley. Biskit was hit by a car and from the surgery now has one leg shorter than the other and I, teasingly, call him "Limp Biskit." Although Marley is a girl, she is named after Bob Marley.
My favorite colors are pink and black. White roses and pink Calla Lilies are my favorite flowers. My favorite Starbuck's coffee is White Chocolate Mocha. My favorite foods are BBQ shrimp and Mexican anything.
I have a preference for eyes that sparkle which are accompanied by a smile! A sense of humor is always appreciated.
My dream vacation would be to visit Scotland. I love history and learning about "old places" in particular. I've also been known to explore old cemeteries. The epitaphs on the ancient headstones gives a small glimpse into a past that intrigues me.
For once in my life I'm not married, nor in a relationship, and I’ve found that this has given me the opportunity to explore and learn things on my own, in my own time. I must say it’s been a time of discovery for me. I am much more comfortable with my “single†status than I have been in the past. Perhaps it is a sign of maturity on my part; or at least realizing that I am not dependent on someone else to make me happy. I will continue to enjoy life, with all of it’s promises and possibilities, regardless of whether I have a significant someone in my life...or not. I am a true romantic at heart, and I hope to find someone with whom to share this adventure called “life†with. I am not going to be any man's plaything, woman on a string, or ONE woman in a string of women. I'm not going to settle for less than the "real" thing. I've got these kids and I have a good life that I enjoy to the fullest. The desire of my heart is to have a man who will complete my family, be a positive role model (better than their sperm donor) for my kids; someone who will be my best friend, lover, and the strong shoulder to cry on if needed. If that should never occur, I am at peace knowing I am not in a turbulent, does he/doesn't he, going-nowhere relationship. I am happy knowing that I have left a significant mark in the lives of people that I love and that's really what life's all about...being there for the people you love and who love you in return.
I enjoy traveling to new places and seeing new things. I have been places this year I'd never thought to visit, and enjoyed every minute of it. At the end of the journey, though, I like coming home. A house isn’t a home...a house is just where I put my stuff. “Home†isn't confined to four walls and a rooftop. "Home" is where those whom I love happen to be. My Mom is, perhaps, one of the most courageous women I've ever known. My sister is my best friend, and my brother...well, he's my brother, and I love him even though we are apples and oranges. When we're all together it's kinda like a Three Stooges Reunion!
I'm so NOT the Drama Queen! I tend to be accommodating to a fault simply because it is only about the IMPORTANT things that go against my conscience or convictions that I would argue. I refuse to argue over stupid, insignificant topics such as: which restaurant to go to, what movie to see, etc. I am a very open-minded person when it comes to a persons race, gender, sexual orientation, and I have close friends that are dear to me whom some would "label" in an unfavorable manner. Hating someone because of their race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is not conducive to changing anybody. Being judgmental is not in my Job Description, and I personally find that people who are different from me enrich my life more often than not. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we were all "cookie-cutter" people? There's an old dcTalk song, entitled Colored People and when you get down to it, we're all "colored"...some are just more vibrant than others, and some are darker hued. As one of my heroes once stated, "...judge a man, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character." ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
I love to sing, though I wouldn't say it's a "talent" of mine, or that I'm particularly gifted when it comes to voice. My favorite place to sing is, of course, in the shower or bathtub, followed by cranking the music up loud when I vacuum and clean house! It makes the dreaded task so much easier and a lot more fun! Don't believe me? Try dancing with your vacuum cleaner next time! It works! :D
