Stets musikbegeistert und auch darin bestärkt, begann das kreative Musikmachen für Jost im Punkrock- und Metalbereich der Neunziger, wobei er allerdings meistens den Kram unplugged nachspielte und Regelfall auch auf der akustischen Gittarre seine eigenen Stücke arrangierte. Die Entscheidung, das Hobby zum Beruf zu machen wurde mit sechzehn getroffen. Seit 1999 als freiberuflicher Musiker (zunächst auf den Straßen Europas) unterwegs gehört Jost wohl zu den (Lebens-)Künstlern, die es lange schaffen, hauptberuflich Musik zu machen ohne frustriert aufzugeben oder den großen Durchbruch zu haben. Während bis 2003 viel deutschsprachige und auch politische Musik im Vordergrund stand, liegt der programmatische Schwerpunkt seines aktuellen Solo Repertoires eher bei Singer/Songwriter, Folk&Blues, Antifolk, oder wie auch immer man sowas heute nennt; jedenfalls kann man den Einfluß von Tom Waits, aber auch den eines Kurt Cobain wohl erkennen. Außerdem betätigt er sich als Sänger der Hard&Heavy-Band Anzefar, als Frontmann des Duos Waits For Cash (Der Name läßt Schwerpunkte erahnen) und als Gittarist und Sänger (Sänger?) der Konzept-Trashpunk-Indie-Kombo ALPHA-Peter mit dem echten Schubi am Schlagzeug und Thomas Pitzer, mit dem er auch einen Techno-Live-Act (Nachtalb Feat. Though he tended to play the stuff unplugged and used to write and arrange his songs on the acoustic guitar. Since he began roaming Europe 1999 as a 16 year old busker and never stopped being a professional musician, he..s one of those artists who neither frustrate nor succeed to catch the hype yet. In the early years (until around 2003) german lyrics and politics were quiet dominating in his program. Nowadays his solo-program is more likely to call Singer/Songwriter, Folk&Blues, Antifolk or whatsoever. Anyway it..s quite possible to recognize the influence of Tom Waits but also of a Kurt Cobain.
