About Me

Paranoïd GrilL est le nouveau projet de l'ex-chanteur/guitariste de Deadwoods et Sliver (combo qui s'est fait connaître en tant que coverband de Nirvana à travers la Belgique, la Hollande et la France), et constitue l'aboutissement de deux ans de composition solitaire de son leader : Mr Joke.
Basé entre Tournai et Lille, le groupe est fondé en août 2008. Il est composé de trois membres : Salvino Suarez (drums), Jérome Vander Maren (bass) et Joachim De Stercke. (guitar/vocals).
Pour ce qui est d'allier les genres, Paranoïd GrilL n'est pas en reste ! A l’écoute, l'esprit s'égare volontiers entre mouvements psychédéliques, déferlantes rock et folk torturé...jusqu'au non sens sacré, graal poursuivi par les musiciens de ce trio hétéroclite. Quant aux textes accouchés d'un esprit sinon malade, du moins attractif pour tout analyste, ils renferment l'expression égocentrique d'un personnage - Mr Joke - conçu par l'auteur comme réceptacle à projections.
Exutoire salvateur ou drame musical volontairement orchestré ?

Paranoïd GrilL is the brand new project of the ex songwriter of Deadwoods and is the result of two years of solo composition. Working without any musical frontiers and supporter of unconscious creation, it is rather logical that his songs reflect his multicultural influences.
Listening to Paranoïd GrilL, mind easily gets lost between psychedelic movements, roots rock and tortured folk tunes…until it joins the Holy Nonsense, grail of this atypical band.
As for texts delivered to this strange brain, which could probably interest some analysts, they’re the expression of an egocentric figure - Mr Joke - made by the author as container for projections ; obviously, this two men have common points, but Joke is more a grotesque picture of what the compositor could become if he came to lose his Muse.
Saving outlet or theatrical drama deliberately orchestrated, no one really knows what’s the true identity of Paranoïd GrilL’s music.
But it’s now time to open our mind’s depths : close your eyes and enjoy your sound journey…
