Composer, song writer, arranger, singer : performed piano, bass, guitar and percussions
Born in 1974, Silo lives in Antananarivo, capital of Madagascar.
At 8 years old, he learned solfège through learning the flute.
At the same time he discovered the piano, he also discovered Jaco Pastorius'album : the jazz and world style of the disc, the bass, the musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Don Alias, etc.
At 11 years old, he is nominated at the "rotary jazz des jeunes talents", a jazz contest for trio
A few times later, he meets Tôty, Ndriana and Pana, musicians playing mainly Malagasy jazz and traditional music ; then begins his musical career. He works with them as a sideman for the most famous local stars: Mahaleo, Vahombëy, Lalatiana, and Mily Clément.
With the latter, he went on European tour and on musical tours in the Indian Ocean. This allowed him to meet well known jazz musicians such as Sylvain Luc, Sylvin Marc, Paco Sery, Tony Rabeson, George Brown, Jeff Gardner, Didier Lockwood etc.

When he was 17 years old, Silo looked into developing his talent for writing, music composition and arrangements. He then created his group called SDF, which remains a reference in the history of emerging music in Madagascar.
After having performed with several urban musicians, other than jazzmen and pop musicians, Silo wanted to try new horizons and explored the wealth of Southern Madagascar music, thus performing with authentic local musicians.
At 25 years old, he met Nini (drums) and Bim (percussions), who were joined by Tôty (bass). The quartet will be in the centre of many projects such as Rimorimo (Silo’s 1st album), Tôty group, Samoëla, Mbolatiana, Roberto Manes … projects that have been worked in studio or in live in Europe, in Africa and in the Indian Ocean.
His personal love for electro music led him to get involved into Malagasy hip hop to which he brought a special touch in terms of musical direction and arrangements. These are his references: Krutambull, Mafonja, Tsapiky techno duo Silo/Nini.
In 2005, Silo focuses on writing. He participates into different literature trainings, among which les rencontres Voix du Sud, slam. From then on, the new repertoire bilingual French/Malagasy "Silogik" which will take him on a solo tour (piano/bass/guitar/vocal)
Solicited for Jazz Festivals in Madagascar and abroad, he flies to the United States and meets musicians of New York in clubs and studios. Joining these recent experiences, collaborations with Tony Rabeson (drums player of Tania Maria) and Linley Marthe (latest bass player of Joe Zawinul) in Jazz Festivals.
To this day, Silo created a quartet (drums, bass, percussions, claviers) which has already started a tour in the Indian Ocean. This will continue with other tours and the recording of a new album.
