Why I wear a mask for my avatar: The first thing my law school's career services people said to my class as incoming first year student's was to make your social networking stuff private b/c employers will sometimes look you up to see what you are really like. This is why I don't put up a pic of myself as an avatar and why I use pearl instead of my real name. If you befriend me - there are pictures of me in my pic section.
Brainy Stuff: I am a 27 year old, white male law student at the University of Illinois College of Law (in final year of school). While I may practice law out of necessity at a firm, my real interest is the philosophy of law and the basis of the jurisprudence that dominates our lives. In my study of the law, I have two paramount concerns for society - freedom and quality of life. Unfortunately, as anyone who is suffering in a free country knows, the two do not go hand in hand. The question that must be asked is how do we maximize the one (freedom) with the responsibility in society to assure the maximization of the other (quality of life).
Normal Stuff: Despite being a law student, I am much more interested in film/tv and video games - anything that is a visually-oriented storytelling form. I often wake up from dreams and jot down what happened b/c my mind makes up such vivid stories that I can often use my dreams in projects I am working on in my free time. I eat at Chili's all the time and also at the Flattop Grill which is a Mongolian Stir-Fry place
