"CLICK HERE TO ENTER SITE"Ministering to our youth at the King County Youth Detention Center is one of the projects of the Youth Chaplaincy Program. Volunteer chaplains provide bible studies, opportunities for pastoral counseling, assistance in emotional crises, and sharing of experiences and life skills with the youth in detention.
The Chaplaincy Program provides training and support for the volunteer chaplains by offering bibles and scriptural materials to the youth at their request, developing structured bible study courses with messages appropriate to incarcerated youth, scheduling Sunday evening worship programs, and on-the-floor chaplain mentoring.
The Chaplaincy Program personnel work closely with the detention facility staff to schedule a consistent number of volunteer chaplains to be available in the evening, while maintaining the safety and structure of the environment.
