Before it was known as Jungle Exotica, it was in Lux's collection.
FEATURED SONGS
The Typewriter song, for those of you who remember it. Typewriters, I mean. Ding!!
Fela Kuti, innovator of Afrobeat in full fierceness just before the Nigerian junta cracked down.
The funniest Mexican Hat Dance by funnyman Allan Sherman.
The predecessor to Jimmy Soul's If You Want To Be Happy, this calypso tune predates it be at least 10 years.
The Mexicali Brass get dissed as a Herb Alpert knockoff, but some of their stuff is pretty good. Like this ska-by-accident version of Jeannie With The Light Brown Hair.
Just what is rockabilly Bill Parsons singing about? Is his mom really gonna buy him THAT kind of toy, if he behaves? Surely one of the most risque B-sides of 1958.
Occasionally when the mood strikes, I throw some popular old singles on the 'table and make a mix that lasts 30-45 minutes. Here's one such example. (text listings on the site)

Recently, some of the VOG tracks from "The Hell I Will" were played on WRFL thanks to the adventurous avant-noiz DJ Senom. This was a one-shot anti-music tape from 1988 where I tried to see how much semi-organized sound I could make by piling on non-musical instruments. I had completely forgotten about these tracks until I heard Senom's show in mid-July and thought I'd send a CD. Thanky for playin'!Slack Attack "Slavebots" featured on insertnoisehere radio show 7 "sleep deprivation" ... great vintage russan agit-art too--------------------- HISTORY of the SLACK ------------------------Steve Slack, Steve Briar, Roy L. Influences:
Meet the family: (AKA catties, the herd'o'cattle, cattywampus)
Mizimo (male sealpoint siamese). Small dark and handsome. Our website mascot.

Lolita (female chocolatepoint siamese). She who must be obeyed. The eyes are drawn in (not very well but the color is close)

Bad influences:
Katherine Harris, architect of VoteFraud2000.

O'Slander Bill Reilly. A bold piece of ... something ... not very fresh, but definately steaming.

Slam the Hammity, (picture removed for being a waste of space, much like the punk himself)

Read: Oh brilliant, just bloody brilliant

"Like my new suit?&quot

Good influences:

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Henry Rollins, Royal Guardsmen, Julie London, cheezy 50's Hawaiian tiki records recorded in New Jersey, Thelonious Monk, Sex Pistols, Cabaret Voltaire, Frank Guida's S.P.Q.R/Legrand singles, Braindead Soundmachine, 60's Herb Alpert, Gong, Specials, English Beat, old 78's, Dick Hyman on the Moog, Astrud Gilberto, Front Line Assembly, Chrome with Helios Creed, Slayer, Melt Banana, Ramones, Boredoms, P-Funk, Public Enemy, Captain Beefheart, Jon Hassell, Kate Bush, Zappa, Joy Division, old Eno, Silver Apples .... diverse enough yet?!?!

Mary Weiss, lead singer of the Shangri-Las. With a fan

Mary covering the Hives' "Think It Over"

Annie Ross, 1/3rd of Lambert Hendricks & Ross, lays down a wild rap from her early, pre-LHR days; with Count Basie. for muddy .... note Tony Bennett in attendance......

Harry Nilsson, from The Point (produced by the people who helped bring you 200 Motels)

Clip from Zappa's 200 Motels which includes the Dental Hygene Dilemma animation segment. Jeff comptemplates leaving the band, smokes Ahmet Ertegun's foot fungus, and steals the room.
