Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Latino first developed a taste for music at the age of 9 being exposed to the traditional styles of Salsa and Merengue alongside the urban styles of Hip Hop, R&B, and Jamaican reggae. .At the age of 16, Latino began his performance career as a dancer for local reggaeton groups in Puerto Rico. Latino performed his first song, “Consejo la Calle†at a festival which led to recording opportunities in music productions with "Rafi Melendez Reggae-Mix" and "DJ Mad & DJ Quick's Vol.1-Da' Brothers."In 1995, Latino featured on Canal 18 “Tus Videos Favoritos†in Playmakers in his television debut. Afterward, Latino appeared in numerous performances in every major city in Puerto Rico, as well as Florida, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. Latino featured in live performances alongside popular reggaeton artists like Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Angel y Kriz, Rubio y Joel, Vega el mas buscado, Kuba el Karnizero, Baby Rasta y Gringo, Las Guanabanas, and many more throughout these shows.Latino’s popularity grew in the “5th Latin Festival†in Willimantic, CT where he performed alongside major artists such as Hector Tricoche, Anthony Cruz, Nuevo Estilo, 4Ever, and Lidia Lebron. In September 2004, he then appeared on the television show “¡Anda Pa'l Cara...!†following a radio interview at 990 Supermax for New Britain, Hartford, Meriden, Waterbury, and Bristol, CT.In October 2004 Latino performed at Club Snatch in Bronx, NY featuring alongside Bimbo, Miche y Jason and Candela, where promotions for New Talent Magazine were being held. During this time, Latino was also involved in the production of "La Nueva Epidemia†by Sacrifice Records.After a duo performance as Quiro y Latino in New Haven, CT at Club Ice -May 29th, 2005 with Tony Touch, they decided to go into a partnership with the freestyle singer Damian and formed the group Elemento. The first performance as Elemento was in New Haven, CT at the Puerto Rican Festival in the beginning of June 2005 where they performed alongside the Barrio Boys, Lydia Lebron, and La Perfecta. Elemento was then invited to sing at “El Dia de los Padres†in Six Flags New England, June 19th 2005 where they shared the stage with Victor Manuelle, Don Omar, Ivy Queen, Monchy y Alexandra, Grupo Mania, El Jeffrey, Cuban Link, Hector el Bambino, and Magic Juan.The popularity of Elemento grew with the release of “Vamos a Perdernosâ€, which was originally launched on La Zona Reggae 1270 as a solo composition by Latino. Elemento then went on to perform in many events such as the Springfield Puerto Rican Festival at Riverfront Park on August 6th, 2005, the Zone in Springfield, MA with Tony Dice on August 13th, 2005, the Atrium Entertainment Complex and at Club Marquis- both in Worcester, MA on August 20th, 2005, “Herencia†for the Massachusetts Latino Chamber of Commerce on September 24th, 2005, “La Zona Reggae Show†at Club Casablanca on October 15th, 2005, on November 11th, 2005 for the SpringfieldNights.Com Network, and most recently for P.R. Salsa Congress in “Noche de Travesura†at Trumpets Banquet Hall May 13th, 2006 to name a few. In 2007, Latino now known as "SammyJangueo", went on to create a web based show called ELJangueoTV featuring live performances by Arcangel, Bimbo, Plan B, Jason, Asesino, Tony Dize, with extra apearences by Toly from Nativos Music and Temperamento from Block Royal. In 2009 he began the filming and production of "Jangueo con Bimbo" el DVD coming soon.In his journey to define himself as a writer, singer, and performer, Latino has gained in his experiences a strong determination to succeed in the music industry and is driven to achieve that goal.
