Variety and innovation have always been Henk’s trademarks as a DJ. Constantly on the lookout for the finest dance music available, he does not limit himself to any specific genre but filters out classics and brand new highlights in house, techno and banging clubby sounds in view of spicy and coherent sets.
His taste specifically always went out to early and current Detroit material. Since he’s the younger brother from Renaat from R&S records, he got first hand listens to a lot of the early stuff which give also his current sets a deepness, intensity & style from the early days.
Enlightenment and hypnotic fits for all the family to enjoy, that’s what an evening with Henk comes down to!
Henk plays two kinds of sets. The first set is a retro-set, based on his excellent experience he has from playing all major clubs from ’87 till ’94. He opened the former megahouse tempel Boccaccio in '89, where newbeat was born. He also was a resident at the Fifty-Five ('84-'89), the best underground club in Ghent (Belgium) and in Balmoral ('93-'97), the most famous after-club ever in Belgium.
His unique retro-sets do not consist of the familiar hits & classics all the time. He will often select more underground pearls that rocked many a dance-floor back in those days. Henk gives you a mix of the music that makes the people go on till eternity.

The second interest of Henk is playing real funky house underground sets.
This is the direction he is currently developing as it fits with his musical feeling in more recent studio productions. The first being a track on Global Cuts,†Party in the ghetto†under the name of Launch Project. He is also spent time in the studio with Marcos Salon (Outlander) which resulted in the release of “Fingerprince –Angel†a latin groovy house track. This track immediately got signed by Statra Records and landed DJ Henk gigs at Tronic Treatment, Backtun & other clubs in New York.
And since then is DJ Henk Salon together with Natacha Smetryns the owner of the famous Montuno Vibes parties and the angels space resort
