Throughout Finesse's childhood in Wychwood, Germiston, South Africa she had always had a keen interest toward music having taken piano as well as violin lessons. Growing up, the main genre she listened to was kwaito (South African dance music). The local radio Station YFM was one of her main portals to music.As soon as she was introduced to House music, she recognized its influence on kwaito and found she could identify with it. Masters at Work, Dennis Ferrer and other locally well received international DJ’s such as Real tone’s Franck Roger, Quentin Harris were among favorites. . . Her progression from kwaito to house coincided with her relocation to London, UK in 2001. In such a pulsating city she was immediately exposed to many awe-inspiring artists such as Jimpster, Ben Watt, Manuel Tur, Liquid People and Rocco to name a few.Inevitably she was introduced to Slick Management DJ/promoter Tulani aka DJ Selekta, in July 2007. In recognizing her devotion, Selekta took her under his wing, advised her to put her passion to use and encouraged her to become a DJ. With Slick Management DJs as mentors, she found the right platform for an induction into this exhilarating, challenging & fascinating industry. Purchasing her decks through support of her family has allowed for a 'more hands on approach' and she now feels 'excited to finally explore and experiment with the music that has come to play such a vital role in her way of life'.Her understanding of this industry on a professional & international level has improved through frequenting places like Ministry of Sound, Herbal, The Key, Pacha, SeOne, Southport Weekender and Ibiza; places where the international house music creators and legends showcase their talents.Slick Management gigs have served as an opportunity to gradually blend with the global market. Events such as “The All Black Night†feat Mr Mama from Italy, The annual Slick Tropical Boat with a legend DJ/producer “Charles Webster†and others not to mention allowed her to experience performance to a large deep house music audiences in London & Birmingham. The last year has seen progression with 2 significant radio appearances. The first being a guest appearance on Kinetic P's show on London's #1 House music station (pushfm.com). The second being a guest set appearance at YFM on Oscar Mdlongwa aka ‘Oskido and DJ Zinhle's show.Contact Finesse at
